A day trip visiting the delightful coffee and pottery shop in Dedza, then driving down the scenic Golomoti Pass to Mua Mission where we have a look at the cultural museum, then head to the lake where a couple of hours are free to relax and explore the unique shoreline, before returning back to Lilongwe.
Itinerary –We collect you from your hotel / residence at 07.30and drive 1& ½ hrs to Dedza, after a cup of coffee and looking at the pottery, continue to Mua Mission, down the very scenic Golomoti pass. Ntchisi Forest Day
Trip Ntchisi Forest Reserve is one of only two remaining montane forests in Malawi and is also popular for its birdlife. The beautiful dense tree cover is criss-crossed by small streams with scatterings of moss-covered rocky outcrops. The floor of the forest is a profusion of wild flowers in the hot season. Ntchisi Lodge is situated on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the lake and rift Valley.
Itinerary – Depart Lilongwe at 08.00 and drive for 2 hrs to Ntchisi. On arrival, prepare for a 2 /3 hr walk into the forest. Return to the lodge for a delicious lunch. A rest after the meal, then depart back to Lilongwe early afternoon, returning mid afternoon.

Lake Malawi Day Trip
A day trip to Lake Malawi where you have time to relax on the white sandy beaches and swim in the clear water before returning back to Lilongwe.
Itinerary –We collect you from your hotel / residence at 08.00 and drive 1& ½ hrs to Senga Bay. Here we stop at Livingstonia Beach Hotel where you are welcome to relax on the beach, swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling or for a small fee use some of their watersport equipment, for the more adventurous, a boat trip to Lizard Island can be arranged. The tour of Blantyre, Malawi’s commercial city starts from any hotel in town .The tour will take you to the historic Church of St. Michaels and All Angels which is over 100 years old, the Industrial Site.
The Museum of Malawi, Top Mandala House, built in 1882 as the headquarter of the African Lakes Company. It was Malawi’s first two-storey building and is believed now to be the country’s oldest house. Blantyre produce market.

Meet up with guide at Likhubula forest station not later than 0730 hrs. After detailed briefing and 3-D orientation, ascend to the top of Chambe basin via the steep but scenic Skyline path. Lunch is served at the top of Chambe basin by the pools of Chapaluka river.
Descend to Likhubula via the fairly gradual and evergreen chapaluka path stopping over at the spectacular and legendary Dziwelankhalamba water falls and pools for refreshing dip and afternoon snack before embarking on the last leg to Likhubula forest Lodge. The Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary offers superb riverine habitat for Schalow’sTuraco, Hildeblandt’s Francolin, African Broadbill, and Red throated twinspot, White-backed Night Heron, Half-collared Kingfisher, African Broadbill, Black-throated Wattle-eye, Mountain Wagtail, Golden Weaver, Red Backed Mannikin, Brown Crowned Tchagra, long tailed Wagtail and Golden Weaver.
Itinerary – 06.30 to 09.00or15.00 to 17.30 – We collect you from your hotel / residence and take you to the Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary [Government side]. Follow one of the numerous trails through the endemic Brachystegia trees to the river, and then follow along this path. Stop for Tea / Coffee and a delicious muffin at a suitable spot.

Dzalanyama Day Trip
Dzalanyama Forest is undoubtedly one of Malawi’s very best birding localities, supplying superb miombo birding just 58km from the capital. Species like the peculiarly localized Sterling’s Woodpecker, Pale-billed Hornbill, Miombo Pied Barbet, Boulder Chat, Central Bearded Scrub Robin, Miombo Grey Tit, Red-capped Crombec and Ancheita Sunbird to name but a few. Dedza Pottery & Rock Art Day & Half Day Trip
This tour will take us to Dedza – a1 and ½ hour drive South of Lilongwe. Dedza Mountain looms majestically over the plains and being on the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment offers outstanding views of Lake Malawi.
Our visit will include an excursion into the foothills where we will see ancient rock art as done by the Bushmen in the late Stone Age, then we continue to Dedza Pottery craft and coffee shop, well known for its cheesecake served in a delightful garden setting.
Lunch will be enjoyed in this peaceful setting and after we will drive up Dedza Mountain to take in the wonderful views, before returning back to Lilongwe.

Lake Malawi &Kuti Community Wildlife Park Day Trip
This tour takes us east from Lilongwe to Lake Malawi, with a side visit to the unique Kuti Community Wildlife Park. This nonprofit making facility, run by volunteers, offers protection to wild animals and supports surrounding communities to benefit directly from protecting their fauna and flora. Kuti offers the opportunity for a uniquely Malawian wildlife viewing experience.
Animals found include – Nyala, Zebra, Waterbuck, Sable, Warthog, Impala, Wildebeest, and Ostrich. Kudu, Genet, Bushbuck, Porcupine, Duiker, etc. After Kuti we proceed for a ½ hr to Senga Bay and stop at the very comfortable Livingstonia Beach Hotel before Lunch.
